Performance Electronics Ignition Upgrade Kits
The PE3-IG2 Engine Control Unit is a cost-effective, stand-alone ignition controller primarily for carbureted or mechanically injected engines. It can also be an upgrade to crank-fired ignition, eliminating the distributor on a CIS or even a Motronic engine. With an extensive list of features, ease of use and compact size, the PE3-IG2 is a great addition to any vehicle.
The PE3 software allows ignition timing to be adjusted all the way across the RPM range. It can also be paired with a wideband O2/lambda sensor for optimizing both fuel and ignition tuning, even on setups with carburetors or MFI where there is no electronic controller for the fuel. Other inputs such as intake air temperature (IAT) or manifold pressure (MAP) can be added as inputs to the ignition map on the PE3 to further optimize the timing curve.
Kits listed in these categories are based on the PE3-IG2 controller, and either Coil-On-Plug (COP) or 6-position Bosch 3x2 coil ignition coils. Both are based on high-quality OEM-grade coils, and made specifically to fit 911s.
The wiring harness is an unterminated/flying lead harness which needs to be completed by the installer with connectors and protective covering/sheathing. A diagram can be provided, but automotive electrical and wiring experience is necessary to complete the installation. If you need suggestions on professional shops for the install, feel free to reach out to us.
A starting file configured for the kit components and instructions for how to load the starting file to the ECU is also able to be provided with each kit.
