EFI Conversion kit for 930 turbo. This kit replaces the factory CIS injection with modern port fuel injectors and a standalone ECU for electronic fuel injection. This is the simplest way to convert a 930 Porsche to EFI. It utilizes the factory intake manifold and intercooler mounting, with minimal adapting of engine components.
The EFI ECU also controls the ignition, which is a distributorless coil-on-plug (COP) system with an ignition coil per cylinder and no ignition leads/spark plug wires or distributor is needed.
The kit includes:
- Haltech Elite 750 ECU (built-in MAP sensor)
- Haltech Elite 750 Premium Wiring Harness (connectors on ECU end, flying lead/unterminated on other end)
- Haltech WB1 Bosch single wideband O2 sensor controller and sensor kit
- Clewett Engineering 9101-127 Crank Trigger Kit (Single-groove 127mm diameter pulley, 60-2 trigger wheel)
- Clewett Engineering 7002-05 Hall Effect crank sensor
- Clewett Engineering 1001-61 Cam Sync Adapter kit
- Clewett Engineering 1001-74 Hall Effect TPS for 3.2L Carrera throttle body
- 9191-98 Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) sensor
- 71220 GM-style 3/8" NPT Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor
- Clewett Engineering 9017-98 Coil-On-Plug (COP) Ignition kit
- 9007-32 Injector Blocks, Fuel Rails, and related hardware for installation of modern port fuel injectors
- 9312-81 Fuel Pressure Regulator kit
- Injector Dynamics ID1050-XDS fuel injectors (set of 6 with connectors)
Options and upgrades:
- A crank trigger kit with a crank pulley compatible with the factory A/C compressor is available if A/C is being retained.
- It is also possible to upgrade to a serpentine belt conversion. Serpentine conversions are not compatible with A/C.
- A turbo scavenge pump with cam sync sensor is needed to run sequential fuel injection/direct fire ignition, but not necessary if running batch fire injection and waste fire ignition. Scavenge pump with cam sensor is available here: 1002-10-S
- Upgrading to a NTK Wideband O2 (Lambda) sensor can help with sensor life/durability in turbocharged applications.
- Twin plug engines can add bottom/exhaust side ignition coils using the CNP kit (CNP kit 9107-99)
- Idle Air Control Valve kits are available (1001-76-STR)
- A fuel line kit to ease plumbing to the factory fuel filter and return line is available and recommended: 9312-60
- Kits utilizing the more advanced Nexus S3 ECU are also available. This adds more advanced data logging and engine protection functions, as well as the capability to monitor and respond to pre-ignition (knock).
Wiring:
This kit configured with the flying lead wiring harness will require professional installation with a familiarity with automotive electronics and creating wiring harnesses.
We can offer completed wiring harnesses made for your application and kit. Please contact us for pricing and lead time on completed wiring harness options.
Calibration (Tuning):
We can provide a basic starting file to load to the ECU that has inputs and outputs configured for the included wiring harness and kit components. This is just a starting point, and does not replace calibration/tuning as settings and ignition/fuel maps are different for every engine/car.
The calibration of the ECU settings (tuning) will require a professional. Our recommendation is to work with someone nearby who can dyno tune the car. Remote tuning options are available, but then troubleshooting the wiring and installation is up to the installer. Feel free to contact us for recommendations on installers and tuners.
